Each Hotone Ampero II effect processor available on our website contains 21 effects designed for violins, violas and 15 for cellos. These effects come pre-loaded directly into the Ampero II that you will receive.
These Hotone Ampero II processors are sold separately (processor only) or as a package consisting of the Ampero II and the Soul Press II expression pedal (essential for adding the wah effect).
Effects for violins, violas and cellos
We have included custom effects adapted to the frequency ranges found on violins and violas (21 effects) and cellos (15 effects). These effects are suitable for extended range instruments (4, 5, 6 and 7 string violins, 4 and 5 string violas, and 4 and 5 string cellos).
These effects are pre-loaded on any Ampero II you order from our website. Some presets examples: Irish, Bass, Oriental, Open Disto, Jazz, Good Vibes or Space Octaver. The full effects list can be found on the FAQ or by watching the video at the bottom of the web page.
If you are considering more effects for your bowed stringed instrument, we have developed several effect packages that you can download and install directly from your computer.
Processors available separately or bundled with the Soul Press II expression pedal
We can’t imagine selling a processor without its expression pedal as this is an essential device for bowed string instruments. We therefore offer the Ampero II processor on its own or as a bundle with the Soul Press II expression pedal.
The Soul Press II is a 4-in-1 pedal: volume, wah, volume/wah and expression. It can be configured according to your needs. We recommend plugging it into the Ampero II as a wah pedal to gain full control over this unique effect.
Effect Modelling
The Ampero II’s effects chain creation has been thoroughly revised. Modular effects chains can be set up in any way you like. Each effect can be positioned in any of the 12 slots available. Hotone has also added the option of having a double effects chain; this means you can have branching effects that merge together at the end of the chain.
The Ampero II features over 100 different pedal effects and more than 150 amplifier, microphone, and speaker simulations.
Acoustic Simulation using Impulse Response
Impulse Response files are currently the best option for reproducing the acoustics of an instrument. They offer a great way to simulate the sound of an acoustic violin, viola or cello.
The Ampero IIs purchased from our website include 3 Impulse Response files: 3 violin simulations, 1 viola simulation and 1 cello simulation. These Impulse Response files are made available for use in the pre-integrated effects that come with the multi-effects processor. They can be used in any effects chain.
You can load up to 50 custom Impulse Response files into the processor.
Please note that the Violin IR files only work with violins, not with cellos (and vice versa). These files are not designed to transform your instrument into another instrument. They are intended to simulate the acoustics of a classical instrument on the same type of electric instrument.
Straightforward effect creation
The Ampero II can be plugged into your computer using the Ampero II Stomp software, which is available on the manufacturer’s website. This software is compatible with both PC and Mac. It allows for the easy creation of new chains with only a few clicks. Each effect is fully described, and it takes no more than a simple drag and drop to get started.
A wide variety of connections
The Ampero II features a wide range of connections covering every musician’s needs both on stage and in the studio: jack inputs, dual jack outputs, AUX in, headphones, EXP in, Midi-in and out, etc.
This effects processor features a dual stereo in/out port (send & return effects loop) which allows the use of external effects, the 4-cable method or sending the sound to a recording device or a mixing console.
The EXP/CTRL jack allows you to connect an expression pedal or a foot controller using a jack plug. The Midi In/Out jacks are compatible with any MIDI foot controller.
